Prior to my election to Parliament last July, I had spent much of the previous two years working on a review of fairness in the supply chain in the pig industry.
I was therefore delighted to be on the Delegated Legislative Committee that passed these new regulations into law this week. Thank you to all the farmers who engaged in the process, including many from the Bridlington & The Wolds constituency.
I hope these changes will go a long way to protect our local food producers from unfair practices and ensure we can continue to enjoy brilliant British pork for decades to come.
