As part of a debate on the 80th anniversary of victory in Europe and victory over Japan, Charlie Dewhirst MP delivered a speech in the House of Commons to pay tribute to the vital role our local area played in the Second World War. He took the opportunity to highlight East Yorkshire’s rich wartime history but to also pay tribute to all of his constituents currently serving in the Armed Forces and to the 5,000 veterans living in the local area.
Whether it was Normandy or Northern Ireland, on land, sea or air, we thank you for your service and sacrifice.
