I met the Minister for Rail, Lord Hendy, to talk about the upcoming Railways Bill, and to understand in detail how the introduction of Great British Railways will affect us in East Yorkshire.
I took the opportunity to emphasise the importance of safeguarding the future of open access operators like Hull Trains, which will remain in the private sector competing against Great British Railways. This will continue to ensure choice and cheaper travel for customers between East Yorkshire and London, and I’ll keep advocating for this in Westminster on behalf of local people.
