East Riding of Yorkshire Council remains the lowest funded education authority in the country for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and shockingly it is set to receive the lowest increase to its high needs funding of any authority this year, at just 2%.
This will create a deficit of a staggering £55 million by the end of this financial year.
Children with SEND in our local area are being catastrophically let down. I’m pleased the Minister has agreed to meet with myself and other East Riding MPs to address this urgently.
