It was great to visit East Riding College in Bridlington, where I met with Principal, Simon Gummerson, and Hospitality & Catering Course Team Leader, Anthony Gascoigne. It was fantastic to get the chance to congratulate pupil Ruby Goodens on reaching the final stage of the prestigious Toque d’Or Back of House Competition. This is an incredible achievement that gives young people the chance to showcase their culinary talent in front of industry experts.
I also had the chance to sample some of the dishes produced by the students as part of their training (which were delicious!), and to tour the wider college site to see the impressive work across different departments.
East Riding College is doing a brilliant job equipping students with the skills and experience they need for the future, and I look forward to continuing to support their work.
