Petition to Protect Veterans and Armed Forces Railcards

During a recent Railway Bill Committee, Labour MPs voted against putting the Veterans Railcard and Armed Forces Railcard into law.

The Government argued it could be trusted not to remove these railcards in the future and it was unnecessary to guarantee them in law. Yet at the same time, they are insisting that other rail discounts - including those for young people, the elderly and disabled passengers - must be protected in law.

Our Veterans and Armed Forces personnel deserve the same certainty.

If you agree that the Veterans Railcard and Armed Forces Railcard should be guaranteed in legislation, please do sign my petition below.

This campaign will be taken directly to the Government via the Transport Secretary and the Defence Secretary, and will run until the end of May 2026.
